Quick start
Sign in
Open crowment.com/login and sign in. New accounts start on the Free plan, with no card required.
Create your first widget
The first time you open the Site Console, a short setup starts. Fill in your widget:
- Name: shown to your team and your readers, 3 to 100 characters.
- Domain: the hostname of the site where the comments will appear, such as
example.com. Leave outhttps://and any path. - Logo (optional): JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 2 MB and 2048 × 2048 pixels.
- Content category (optional): tells the AI what kind of site this is, so it reads comments in the right context. You can set it later, see Rules and lifecycle.
Add the embed code to your site
The next step shows your embed code with your app key already filled in. Put the script in your page's <head> and the <crow-comments> tag where the comments should appear:
<script defer src="https://embeds.crowment.com/comments.js"></script>
<crow-comments app-key="YOUR_APP_KEY"></crow-comments>
Installation covers single-page apps, frameworks and how pages map to threads.
Choose a plan
Stay on Free or pick a paid plan. You can change it any time from Subscription in the Site Console. See Plans and billing.
Open your widget
Finish the setup to open your widget in the Site Console. The sidebar lists every widget you belong to, with your role on it and its pages.
Before you go live
New widgets start with moderation switched off: comments are published the moment they are posted. To have the AI review comments and hold back the questionable ones, turn moderation on:
- Open your widget, then Moderation Rules.
- Switch Moderation on under Lifecycle and pick a Content category.
- Select Save.
Next steps
- Match the widget to your design: Appearance and language.
- Bring in help: Team and roles.
- Let readers use their accounts on your site: Single sign-on.
