Badges
Show your translators, supporters and VIPs next to their names, set by hand or through single sign-on.
Badges are labels such as "Translator", "VIP" or "Supporter" that appear next to a reader's name in the comments. They show who someone is; they don't give any permissions. Owners and admins manage them under Your widget → Badges.
Create a badge
Select New badge and fill in:
- Name: 1 to 24 characters, unique within the widget.
- Color: shown as a dot and as the top strip of the reader's profile card.
- Icon: optional; shown in the badge's color instead of the dot.
- SSO key: optional; lets your site give the badge through single sign-on.
Use the arrows to order your badges. A reader with several badges shows the highest one next to their name, with +N for the rest; their profile card lists them all.
How many badges you can create depends on your plan:
| Plan | Badges per widget |
|---|---|
| Free | 1 |
| Starter | 3 |
| Growth | 5 |
| Scale | 10 |
| Business | 20 |
Give badges to readers
- By hand: open a comment in Comments & Moderation and choose badges in the commenter's card, under Badges.
- Through single sign-on: put the badge's SSO key in the
badgesclaim of your sign-on token, for example["vip"]. See Single sign-on.
The holders button on a badge lists who has it, and lets you take it away. Badges given through single sign-on are marked SSO and are updated each time the reader signs in.
